will someone just bloody tell me wat it is im really confused is kaputski a person or a thing or WAT???????????????????????????????????????????????

It comes from the Cold War era and the word kaput - meaning broken or useless. In the US, 'ski' was associated with Russian even though it is also middle European. Then again much of middle Europe was behind the Iron Curtain back then. Adding 'ski' to words made them more important and worldly. It was how to speak Russian - just add 'ski' to the end of a word.

So, kaputski means broken or useless. You are driving a 15 yr old car and it stops working. Today you might say, "The car died." Fifty years ago or if you are 60 yrs or older, you might say, "The car went kaputski." Things - not people - "go kaputski" or "went kaputski".

There are unfortunate people whose last name is Kaputski.
