What kind of energy is invloved in hearing and vision?

When a sound is produced, it is carried as vibrations through the air. these vibrations enter the ear and make the ear drum vibrate. This is kinetic energy. The inner ear converts this kinetic energy into electrical energy, which travels along the nerves to the brain. Light enters the eye as electro-magnetic energy. This energy is converted by the retina first into chemical energy, which is then converted to electrical energy in the nerves as the signal travel to the brain. Where nerves join other nerves, the signal has to jump across a gap called a synapse. This is done by converting the energy back into chemical energy, the chemical energy travels across the synapse and is converted back into electrical energy. In short: Ears - Kinetic, electrical and chemical Eyes - Electromagnetic (light), electrical and chemical

Do you have electrical energy in your nerves?

Yes, humans do.

Why do skeletal muscles need a rich vascular supply?

Blood brings oxygen and ATP, which react with one another (oxidation), to the muscle cells. The result of this oxidation process (aerobic) is energy and heat. (Most of the body's heat originates from muscle activity.) Skeletal muscles will not contract unless stimulated by neurons.

Why do we need energy to live?

To move muscles, the brain generates an electric pulse and sends it through nerves to the muscle, causing it to contract. To generate this pulse, the brain needs energy. Energy is also needed for the muscles themselves to move (the electric pulse is a signal, rather than a power source). In warmblooded animals (such as humans), energy is also used to maintain body temperature.

How does sound happen?

By multiple vibrations in the air aka sound waves. An object which creates kinetic energy produces air pressure variations which are interpreted as sound by the brain via the ear drum and the nerves in the inner ear.

What is the purpose of the human brain?

The brain integrates the signals carried to it by the dfferent nerves, processes it, and dispatches necessary responses via the dfferent nerves.

Where does reaction time come from in the body?

Reaction time in the body comes from the brain and the nerves. The brain sends signals to the body which are carried by the nerves.
