A booming sound may indicate thunder, signaling a nearby lightning strike. Seek shelter indoors to stay safe from potential lightning strikes and wait at least 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder before resuming outdoor activities.
"boom" is a description of a loud sound eg a Sonic Boom caused when an aircraft breaks the sound barrier (travels faster than the speed of sound).
Yes, sound waves exist which are not audible to the human ear. Humans can hear sound waves having frequency between 20 - 20,000 Hz. Other all frequencies lie outside our hearing range and are called ultrasonic or supersonic waves.
If you hear a sound after picking up your phone, it could be feedback caused by the phone's proximity sensor or electronic interference. It is a common occurrence in electronic devices and usually not a cause for concern.
Sound Waves move at an elastic speed determined by the medium it's traveling in - for air, it's dependent on the temperature and humidity of the air the sound is traveling in as to how fast sound will travel.Sound moves at different speeds in different mediums - in dry air at 68 degrees F, it travels at about 768mph.The Sound Barrier is considered that speed at which sound is traveling, or Mach 1. When a supersonic aircraft moves past the speed of sound in air, it is said to go through the sound barrier. This is denoted on the ground as a "sonic boom", very common in the 50's and 60's around America, but less so today because of noise considerations in heavily populated areas. The crack of a whip is another example of an object moving through the sound barrier - the "crack" you hear is the tip of the whip breaking the barrier as it moves faster than the sound it made.
Intrasonic is the sound frequencies which we can hear.
They do that when they hear a curious sound.

Depends on what you mean. Sound need an atmosphere to travel through, and the moon hasn't got one - so no sound "outside". If you're standing on the surface of the moon in a space suit, watching a rock fall you wouldn't hear a thing. OTOH if there's a radio in your space suit, you'd hear that one just fine. Inside the helmet there'd be an atmosphere that would carry sound.
Sound travels faster underwater, but this does not mean that divers hear better underwater. It just means that the sound is heard more quickly.
