What is the meaning of the logo of fermilab?

A logo is some little bit of artwork, put on posters or letters by a company or organization etc, to help people recognize it quickly. Fermilab, (an institution) has a logo.

When was the last quark discovered?

The final quark, the Top Quark, was discovered in 1995 at FermiLab.

What are the names of 3 particle accelerators in the us?

Linac Coherent Light Source at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, ATLAS at Argonne National Laboratories, and the Tevatron at Fermilab. (There are others as well, such as the Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.)

How does the Tevatron help scientists study the atom?

Before shutting down on Sept. 29, 2011, the Tevatron was the world's largest proton-antiproton collider. Residing at Fermilab, the Tevatron accelerated and stored beams of protons and antiprotons traveling in opposite directions around an underground ring four miles in circumference at almost the speed of light before colliding them at the center of two detectors. The detectors, called CDF, for Collider Detector at Fermilab, and DZero, named for its location on the accelerator ring, contain many detection subsystems that identified the different types of particles emerging from the collisions. Scientists explored the structure of matter, space and time by analyzing the showers of particles created.

How do particle accelerators work?

They accelerate particles using magnets. Once going at speed close to the speed of light, particles smash into each other. Accelerators are used to examine the properties of subatomic particles. There is an accelerator in Chicago called Fermilab, and another, larger on in Europe. See the large hadron collider for more info on current accelerators.

What is the most megapixels offered in a digital camera?

Fermilab just came out with a digital camera with a resolution of 500 megapixels, but it is a one-of-a-kind that is being attached to a telescope in Chile for use in Fermilab's Dark Energy Survey project. For most people 7 to 12 megapixels is plenty.

What will the new particle discovered at Tevatron Fermilab April 2010 going to be named?

no one might never know that.

Where is fermilab located?

The Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is located in Warrenville, Illinois. The center of its main ring is at 41.8316° north latitude / 88.2522° west longitude. That point is 31.96 miles almost due west of the Willis ('Sears') Tower in downtown Chicago, 32.86 miles west of the south goalpost at Soldier Field, and 30.78 miles at an azimuth of 242.5° from my house.

What is looking for higgs Boson?

The two most prominent particle colliders that are looking for the Higgs boson are the Tevatron at FermiLab (although that one is going to close soon) and the LHC at CERN.

Where are tauons situated?

Tauons are not stable particles, as such they are very difficult to find as they decay quite rapidly. To find them you would have to be (very!) close to the location of their creation, such as an supernova or a particle collider here on Earth (such as the one in CERN or the one at FermiLab).

Who is looking for the Higgs boson?

Many, many physicists are looking for the Higgs boson, and they're doing it mainly in two locations. The first location is at the Tevatron at Fermilab in Illinois. The second location is at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, which is near Geneva Switzerland.

What quark is the 6th quark also known as?

The six quark flavors are up, down, strange, charmed, bottom, and top. The top quark was the last to be created in an accelerator since its mass was so great; after a nearly 20 year search it finally was announced by Fermilab.
