A clean metallic surface appears shiny because it is reflecting light. The interaction is due to the conductivity of the surface of the metal. When surface conditions change, the reflectivity is reduced.
When a metal surface is polished, it becomes very smooth and flat, resulting in less scattering of light. This causes the light to be reflected uniformly, giving a mirror-like appearance with high reflectivity. In contrast, a rough surface scatters light in different directions, resulting in a dull reflection.
You can see your reflection in polished metal because the metal surface is very smooth and acts like a mirror, reflecting light in a way that allows you to see yourself. The smoothness of the surface allows light to bounce off and create a clear image, similar to how you see your reflection in a regular mirror.
Metal reflection enhances the appearance of a product by providing a shiny and polished surface that adds a sense of luxury and sophistication. Functionally, metal reflection can improve visibility and clarity, as well as increase durability and resistance to corrosion.
It reflects off the surface of shiny and smooth metals.
You might see reflection in mirrors, glass surfaces, calm bodies of water, and polished metal surfaces. Reflection occurs when light bounces off a surface and changes its direction.

Metal polish works by using abrasive particles to remove oxidation, dirt, and stains from the metal surface. The abrasive particles break down the unwanted material, revealing the clean metal underneath. Additionally, metal polish often contains chemical agents that help protect the metal from future tarnishing and corrosion.

Highly polished metal was used for mirrors before switching to glass. While it will reflect, the metal needs to be kept polished or the reflection will dull.

you can buy metal polish.

It would certainly soften glue, but you may be better using either carburettor cleaner, cigarette lighter fluid or nail polish remover.
i don't think that it has a special name , i think it just reflects the light . however if heat reflects on a shiny surface this is called reflective radiation. hope this helps *)
A pair of metal scissors appear shiny due to the smooth surface of the metal reflecting light in a uniform manner. When light hits the metal surface, it reflects off the smooth surface without scattering, creating a shiny appearance. The shininess of the scissors is a result of the reflection of light waves off the metal surface, giving it a polished and reflective look.
To polish aluminum to a mirror-like surface, start by sanding the aluminum with progressively finer grits of sandpaper to remove any scratches or imperfections. Next, use a polishing compound with a soft cloth or rotary tool to buff the surface until it shines. Finally, finish by applying a metal polish or wax to protect the surface and maintain its shine.
