The effect of a roof rack on gas economy is negligible -- until you place a luggage carrier on the rack. The increased profile of the carrier increases the car's air resistance, which becomes significant at highway speeds.
Goodbye honey
The roof load is a rating that determines how many pounds per square foot the roof will withstand. Most roofs are rated above 300 pounds per square foot or more.
Most believe that the only function of a roof covering is to provide a material to shed water, but of equal importance is its ability to provide thermal protection. In a house with a cathedral ceiling, the roof forms the ceilings of the rooms below. A dark colored shingle will affect the interior environment by absorbing solar heat from the sun during the day. This same roof, on a clear, cool night will transmit more heat from the house than would a light colored roof. A white or nearly white roof will reflect solar radiation during the day and will not radiate much heat at night. Unfortunately the roof has to stay relatively clean if it is to function properly.
Iron is a better heat conductor (regardless of color), allowing it to transport more of the heat it has to your body faster.
Because black is a dark color and if a car is dark colored the more hotter it gets. It all has to do with the pigmintation. Its the same thing with clothes.
Floating roof tanks are broadly divided into external floating roof tanks (usually called as floating roof tanks:FR Tanks) and internal floating roof types(IFR Tanks). IFR tanks are used for liquids with low flash-points(e.g. ATF, MS. gasolene, ethanol). These tanks are nothing but cone roof tanks with a floating roof inside which travels up and down along with the liquid level. This floating roof traps the vapor from low flash-point fuels. Floating roofs are supported with legs on which they rest. FR tanks do not have a fixed roof (it is open in the top) and has a floating roof only. Medium flash point liquids such as naphtha, kerosene, diesel, crude oil etc. are stored in these tanks. sealions

Yes, ish! I fitted a gutter mounted 90 rack to a 200tdi discovery. I had to bend the legs out a little to get it on but it did go on. If its a full length 110 rack though it will be too long, in which case you can sell it to me because I need one! :D
