Does blood coagulate faster with cold or heat applied?

Blood coagulates faster when cold is applied. Cold temperatures cause blood vessels to constrict, reducing blood flow and promoting coagulation. Heat, on the other hand, can increase blood flow and delay the coagulation process.

What does blood pressure tell doctors?

Blood pressure is a good indicator of the overall health of your cardiovascular system. Blood pressure is the pressure exerted on the walls of your blood vessels by your blood as pumped by your heart. IF your blood pressure is elevated, your heart has to work harder to pump the blood through your body. High blood pressure is serious and can be life threatening, so check with your physician if you have a family history. Low blood pressure can cause dizzy spells and fainting, so try to keep an eye on your blood pressure and keep it within the normal range of 90-120 over 60-79.

How is the blood from the pulmonary vein different from blood in other veins?

It's the only vein that carries oxygenated blood. It brings this oxygenated blood back to the heart (into the left atrium) where it can then be pumped around the body.

Why the blood needs to be pumped through the lung and all parts of the body?

The blood is pumped through your lungs and other parts of your body to carry oxygen and other necessary nutrients throughout your body. It also carries the wastes like carbon dioxide out of your body. It is necessary for the blood to pass through your lungs so that your blood can pick up the oxygen and to get rid of the carbon dioxide that it picked up in the body.

Is exercise the only thing that makes your heart beat faster?

Yes because when muscles are used for exercise or anything they must be replenished with oxygen, nutrients, etc. They also produce waste products that need to be taken away from the cells. Blood is the transport system for all of these things so the harder your muscles are worked the quicker they burn through nutrients and produce waste meaning that the blood must flow faster to provide all of this, the only way for blood to flow faster is for you heart to beat faster.

Why does diastolic blood pressure decrease during exercise?

Diastolic pressure remains constant or less than normal regardless of exercise intensity due to decreased peripheral resistance as increased metabolism will cause vasodilatation so decrease resistance due toABP = COP X Peripheral resistance

What are the two places that blood goes?

Blood travels to the lungs to pick up oxygen and then circulates to the rest of the body to deliver oxygen and nutrients to cells and tissues. It then returns to the heart to be pumped back to the lungs for more oxygen.
