To be honest I'm not quite sure if the berries are poisonous, but I would recommend you not to eat them just to make sure! Unless of course you know for certain that the berries are not poisonous, you could also ask a doctor or Gardener for advice if you are really unsure. I know that the Aborigines in Australia used to wrap meat in Alexanda leaves to preserve it and they would remove it before cooking. The Japanese Sago palm however is EXTREMELY poisonous so please do not get the two mixed up!! I hope this helped!
