Raspberries are are bramble fruit like their cousins the Blackberry. They are grown on a tall, sturdy stem extending from the ground and can grow to six feet or taller (although most often they will slump over.) Raspberries are very hearty and can be grown in many climates. They do not like 'wet feet' or overly soggy soil, but need to be moist in the Summer. Raspberries often send out multiple shoots, and if not contained will quickly take over lots of space. However, mowing over them or a quick whack with a hoe will take care of the problem. You can also uproot them and replant in other areas to expand your own area or give them away to others. Hope this helps!
