Ricin is extremely toxic and is considered a weapon-making material. α-sarcin (CAS 86243-64-3) cleaves a ribosomal RNA on 80S ribosomes. Other inhibitors of 80S ribosomes include Shiga-like toxin Stx2; Abrin (CAS 1393-62-0).
