The worth of a book does not depend (much) on its author, but when it was published, where it was published, the quality of the production, its rarity ... and other such factors. If you have some books which you need valued, you should talk to a local rare bookdealer about them.

But as a general rule popular editions of popular authors tend not to be valuable unless they are first editions (or at least very old).
