Grendel's head & the hilt of an ancient sword.
Beowulf and his men were ordered to leave their weapons and armor outside when they entered the mead hall of King Hrothgar in the epic poem Beowulf.
Hrothgar's men left the side of the lake and went home because they were afraid of Grendel, a monstrous creature that attacked them at night. They believed the hall, Heorot, was cursed and deserted it for their safety.
Beowulf's father Ecgtheow was a good friend of Hrothgar's. Long ago, Hrothergar saved Ecgtheow's life. Beowulf comes to repay his father's "debt" to Hrothgar. This is the 'technical' reason he helps Hrothgar. Really though, Beowulf is a true hero. He seeks out a challenge, and Grendel is the ultimate challenge.
King Hrothgar and his men leave their weapons outside Heorot as a sign of trust and peace when they arrive. This gesture signifies their peaceful intentions and demonstrates their desire to come in friendship.
Hrothgar's men leave the side of the lake and go home because the Danes think that Beowulf is dead. The Geats may have stayed out of loyalty or hope, as loyalty to their leaders was a central aspect of their culture.
On page 33 of Seamus Heaney's bilingual edition of "Beowulf", the narrator explains that Hrothgar paid a debt on behalf of Beowulf's father, Ecgtheow. Ecgtheow began a feud after killing a Wulfing. This provoked fear among the Geats, Ecgtheow's people, and they forced him to leave. So he ran away to the land of the South-Danes, Hrothgar's kingdom. Hrothgar was meanwhile "in the first flush of kingship". Hrothgar assuaged the matter by shipping a treasure-trove to the Wulfings. After this, Ecgtheow paid Hrothgar his allegiance.

Oh, dude, King Hrothgar didn't commit suicide. He's a character from the epic poem "Beowulf." He actually dies of old age and grief after facing the wrath of the monster Grendel. So, like, no need to worry about Hrothgar taking matters into his own hands.
hrothgars warriors cant really do anything. hrothgar shows the weakness in a leader. the only thing hrothgars warriors try to do is stay away from herot because if they stay at herot grendel will just come and devour them
