To obtain the Nova Beam, you must take transit 4-A to the Mining Site. To get to the Nova Beam, follow these steps.
1. Use your map to navigate to transit station 4-A. Scan the screen and use the hand scanner to call the next transit outta here (you should know how to call the transit by now). Take the transit to station 4-B.
2. Once there, head over to Phazon Quarry, and destroy the Pirates in your way. Enter the hall in the east side of the room. From there, you can use a control terminal to control the mining drill for your evil needs. Touch the two symbols on the control terminal to use the mining drill to destroy the walls of the mine. One wall will reveal an Missile Expansion, an the other will reveal a half-pipe. Get the Missile Expansion and use your Boost Ball to boost up the half-pipe. At the top will be a door. Go through the door to enter Mine Lift. Use your Grapple to rip off the gate, then head in. Go up the Spider Ball rail until you reach a right and left turn. Go either way, and fall off at the end into a spinner. Use your Boost Ball to activate the spinner, and do the same with the other one. Once you've done that, the floor will fall (oh shoot) onto the below floor. Jump onto the below and head into the next room.
3. Okay, so you're now stuck in a room with a Phazon Harvester Drone, which you can't kill. Oh great. But you can always overload it. Shoot the cannon to parlyze it for a while. That gives you time to move on to Drill Shaft 1. Remember to destory the drones and wait until the huge beam pauses before moving on. At the end, enter the door to Main Cavern, where you can get a sneak peek at your lovly Nova Beam. move to the end of the hall, and use the hand scanner to activate the elevator. Ride it to the bottom...
BOSS BATTLE: MINING CANNON
So now your locked up in a room with a giant cannon on the roof and a bunch of Space Pirates. Destroy all the Space Pirates but leave one (make sure the one you're going to leave almost dead). Leave the poor Space Pirate alone, until the Mining Cannon starts to suck everything in. Now the Pirate will hang on for its dear life. End its pain by shooting it with Charge shots or Missiles. The Pirate will be sucked in the Mining Cannon, parlyzing the cannon for a while and revealing the cannnon's weak points. Meanwhile, you can destroy one of the four weak points the cannon offers. Once you destroy one weak point, the Mining Cannon will reactivate, and the Space Pirates will be back. Repeat this until all four weak points are destroyed, causing the Mining Cannon to blow up and reveal the Nova Beam.
Tip: Everytime you destroy one weak point, stronger Space Pirates will come out. Save your Hypermode. Trust me.
