The main purpose of a democracy is for citizens to have a say in government. For a democracy to work, citizens have to be active - vote, attend town hall meetings, and interact with their representatives.

In a democracy, active citizens participate in decision-making processes by voting, staying informed, and engaging in public discourse. Their involvement ensures that the government is accountable and responsive to the needs and desires of the people. Without active citizens, democracy can become stagnant, unrepresentative, or susceptible to manipulation by concentrated interests.
