Colonial clothing of contemporary style.
In colonial Virginia, children's clothing varied by age and social status. Younger children typically wore simple, loose-fitting garments made from linen or wool, often resembling miniature versions of adult clothing. Boys commonly wore knee-length breeches and shirts, while girls wore shifts or dresses with aprons. Wealthier families might have used finer fabrics and more elaborate styles, reflecting their social standing.
Colonial clothing evolved to the clothing currently being worn in the Western world through the need of developing more functional clothing. Cloaks for example were phased out due to their irrelevancy as society evolved.
West Virginia has no "traditional" clothing. West Virginians wear practically what everyone else in the country is wearing.
