How successful was Elizabeth in overcoming the problems of her reign?

She was enormously successful in that she raised diplomacy to a high art in her dealings w/ Spain, France, Holland & Scotland/ she united a previously hugely-divided country by her strength of will/ built a strong naval defence/ supported new paths of exloration & trade/encouraged the arts /instilled a sense of continuity & prosperity, simply by being queen for such a long time.

She was also very successful in the 'poor law'

It depends what problem it was. She solved some well and some not so. The Spanish Armada was solved well but was also solved partially by luck. Religion wasnt solved so well as people were still fighting over it and that was part of the reason for the Spanish Armada. Overall, she solved all of her problems quite well.

Elizabeth faced multiple problems during her reign. First of all there was the problem of religion, before her reign the country was catholic but she was protestant so what should she do, go against her religion to please half of the nation or risk rebellions from catholics bu changing the country back to protestant?

Another problem was that she was another female monarch and after the previous reign many people had lost faith in women monarchs so she had a big task to over come to prove that she was a worthy ruler.

A big problem the Elizabeth faced was that when she can to the throne the country was in great debt, they had no proper army and could not afford the war with France.

Throughout her reign Elizabeth faced many rebellions from Catholics (e.g. the throckmorton/ridolfi plot) and was even excommunicated from the church and was claimed to be an unworthy queen.
