A benevolent dicatorship is a more effective form of government than democracy. Decions can be made immediatly and will be made in the best intrest of the county (hence benevolent), rather then in the intrests of being re-elceted. Therefore decisions that are nessisary, but unpopular with the people (like cutting the deficit in Greece by cutting social servicess before they defaulted on debt) can be made. If the dictator listens to his advisors then there is no overall loss of creative problem solving either. The effectiveness of Dictatorship was shown during the rule of the roman emperors and the mongol khans who created vast empires in short periods of time. Whereas the greatest democratic civiliation of ancient history was the greeks, who had a lose condederation of city states in a small area and they mainly fought amongst themselves.
Dictatorship however contains the risk of the dictator becoming a tyrant and no longer caring for the people. This is a risk that democracy does not contain.
No. It is a democracy.
Democracy, although the country is ruled by only one party in common for long, except one 'five term' from 1998-2004, No body ever liked the current government.
Despite numerous press reports calling the current Governor Queen Linda and the past Governor King Ben, Hawaii is a Republic with strong leanings toward Democracy.
A benevolent dictator is a dictator whose rules and proposals are seen to be helping the population. A perfect example of such a person would be former Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, who improved the economy of Singapore and created much of its current success, even though he ran the country as a police state. People are often very proud when they have a benevolent dictator.Contrary to the view of Expert Matthew Burgess, the benevolence of dictator has no connection to a dependence on public will. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, widely seen as a benevolent dictator, made numerous changes to the existing power structure and often ignored democratic will.
It's a Dictatorship disguised as a Democracy. The current president has been so for over 20 some years... Also you can be arrested for speaking out against the government there.
