A political scientist would study the structure and functions of political systems in different regions. An archaeologist would study past human cultures and societies through material remains. An economist would study the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in different regions.

Political science doesn’t study artifacts so much, but the motives concerning why people vote the way they do, the reasons concerning laws, and the political climate of a time period. Like all historians they would be interested in letters, photos, and political memorabilia.
