Richard J. Daley (1902-1976) was a career politician in Illinois, and was mayor of Chicago for 21 years, from 1955 to 1976, including during the riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. His son Richard M. Daley (born April 24, 1942) became mayor of Chicago for 22 years, from 1989 to 2011.
