Edward VI did not actually hate Protestants; in fact, he was a strong supporter of the Protestant Reformation. As the son of Henry VIII, Edward ascended to the throne in a time of significant religious change, and he implemented Protestant reforms in the Church of England. However, his reign was marked by tensions between different Protestant factions and the Catholic Church, leading to conflicts over the direction of the Reformation. Any perceived animosity would likely have stemmed from power struggles rather than personal hatred.
The successor to Edward VI was Queen Mary I.

Edward VI of England reigned for only 6 years and 159 days- put plainly, it lasted from 1547, when his father Henry VIII died, to 1553, when he changed his father's will and named his couisn Jane Grey his heir instead of his sister Mary, becasue Mary was a Catholic and both Edward and Jane were fierce Protestants. Edward was crowned when he was nine years old, and died aged 15 in 1553 of tubercolosis.
Edward VI never married, and died age 15. He had previously been betrothed to Mary, Queen of Scots as a child. None of Henry VIII's children (Edward VI, Mary I, Elizabeth I, Henry Fitzroy) had offspring.
Mary I (1516-1558) was queen of England and Ireland, half-sister to Edward VI and Elizabeth I. She became the first female monarch of England when succeeded Edward VI (1537-1553). She restored Catholicism as the state religion of England. For her alleged executions of Protestants, she was nicknamed "Bloody Mary." She also jailed her sister and later successor Elizabeth. But her actual persecution of Protestants may have been exaggerated by historians connected to the re-established Church of England.
