Popocatépetl, often referred to as "Popo," is an active stratovolcano located in central Mexico. It is situated in the states of Puebla, Morelos, and Mexico, approximately 70 kilometers southeast of Mexico City. The volcano is one of the country's most iconic landmarks and is the second-highest peak in Mexico, standing at about 5,426 meters (17,797 feet) above sea level.
