Its true; back when over-the-counter medications were first proposed, Doctors all over the world strongly objected, stating it was dangerous for people to play around with chemicals they didn't understand. The only way the drug companies were able to convince them, was by proposing they only sell it, in very low, very weak dosages, but even then medical professionals only grudgingly agreed and gave the green light.
