The nonverbal format of the Primary Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (PTONI) is especially appropriate for testing children who typically are not verbally or motorically well developed. Furthermore, directions in eight alternative languages are provide for the PTONI making it an appropriate assessment of intelligence for children from diverse language backgrounds. The PTONI is appropriate for children with hearing impairments so long as they can understand the directions given in sign language. ===== Taken from the Primary Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (PTONI) manual.
The Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (TONI) has an age range of 6 y.o. thru 89 y.o. The Primary test (PTONI) is for children 3 thru 9 y.o. Each provides an assessment of General Nonverbal Intelligence which can be reported various ways: Standard Score, Percentile, Age Equivalent. There are many 'nonverbal tests of intelligence. Another one in the TONI line is the Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (CTONI), which looks at analogic, sequential and classification reasoning skills. It provides several scores based on those skills and combinations thereof. +++++++ Both tests measure aspects of perceptual, abstract and conceptual reasoning. The PTONI has 8 alternative language administration instructions in the manual, including Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Vietnamese, Korean, and French - among others. The TONI is in it's third edition and may soon be revised to it's fourth edition.
According to Piaget, the primary marker of intelligence consists of the ability to adapt and modify one's mental structures to fit new information and experiences, which he called "assimilation" and "accommodation." Piaget believed that intelligence is demonstrated by the ability to navigate and successfully resolve cognitive conflicts and challenges at each developmental stage.
Alfred Binet probably deserves the primary credit there, though the intention of his test was to ascertain the ability levels of different children to succeed in elementary school rather than to measure intelligence per se. In any case, it was a valid test of individual differences in aptitude.
I personally highly disagree with this idiotic notion but everyone who takes Intelligence Quotient scores seriously takes this idea seriously. Of course nowadays when employers seek employees they look at community service and criminal records as well as test scores, depending on the requirements of the job.
The primary focus of educational psychology is to study how people learn and develop in educational settings. This field explores factors that influence learning, including motivation, intelligence, effective teaching strategies, and student diversity. By understanding these factors, educational psychologists aim to improve educational practices and outcomes.

Taken from the Primary Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (PTONI) Manual: The Primary Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (PTONI) is a standardized norm-referenced test of reasoning abilities (e.g. sequencing, visualization, conceptualization) in young children. The nonverbal format of the PTONI requires no oral responses and minimal motor responses, thus reducing the potential for language differences or delays or motor impairments to confound results. Psychologists, diagnosticians, special educators, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals can use this test to identify both severe intellectual deficits and superior cognitive intelligence. The test was normed on a diverse sample of 1,010 children residing in 38 states. The PTONI is a quick, accurate and cost-efficient way to measure intelligence. Testing takes approximately 5 to 15 minutes.
An intelligence quotient of 130 is considered exceptionally good, classified as "above average intelligence." However, the IQ test has two classifications- the Terman classification and the Wechsler classification. By the Wechsler classification, a score of 130 and above is considered superior. The accuracy also depends on which IQ test you were administered. The WAIS-III, Stanford-Binet IV, Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scale (RIAS), Universal Nonverbal Intelligence Test (UNIT), Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI), Woodcock-Johnson-R are used for adults, whereas WISC-IV, Kaufman Brief Intelligence (KBIT) and the Difference Ability Scales (DAS) are used for children. The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) is administered to young children. Needless to say if you took a preschool IQ test and you gained a result of 130, you would be considered sub average. If you took an adult IQ test and achieved a 130, you would be considered superior or above average. Assuming you took an adult test, a 130 is very good.
Such tests include the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale, the Wechsler Intelligence Scales, the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence, and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children
There are actually three categories, Weschler adult intelligence scale (WAIS), one for children called the Weschler intelligence scale for children (WISC) and one for really young kids called the Weschler preschool and primary scale of intelligence (WPPSI).
Visual, verbal, and nonverbal are the three primary kinds of communication. Body language would be an example of nonverbal communication.
Such tests include the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale, the Wechsler Intelligence Scales, the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence, and the Kaufmann Assessment Battery for Children.
The WPPSI is designed for children age 4-6 1/2 years.
