Thinking in words is necessary to consider abstract concepts. Most thinking is on the sub-cortical level, where we take in information and act on it without consciously considering what we are doing.
Driving is a good example. That's why it easy to distract a driver with conversation, and especially with phone conversations. Since ALL the information is coming in on the cortical level, we have to pay greater attention to it, and thus our sub-cortical functions suffer. It's as though we use all our processing power to talk and think about the call, and there is none left over for driving.

Why do you think it is important to havr time zones why not have the whole world on the same time?
I think the best reason for everywhere remaining at or close to actual local mean time is so that in every time zone the change from one day to the next stays at or close to the middle of the night, when most people in the zone are asleep. If it weren't for that, I think it would be much, much simpler if everyone were on Universal Time once everyone got used to the hours of sunrise, sunset, etc. for his/her own area.
