How do you build a sand castle?

Take wet sand and make a castle out of it.

There is no wrong way to do it...

1. Using a container as a mold (e.g., small pail) fill it with wet sand. If you are on a beach, then collect the sand near the water's edge. Be sure there is no debris in the sand.

2. Pack the sand well into the mold. (If your sand is dry, then pour water over the sand-filled mold until it is completely saturated. Press out any air pockets.)

3. In one quick motion, invert the mold over the ground or hard base where you are building, and then slap the open face down onto the base so that the packed sand will dislodge from the sides of the mold.

3. Lift the mold straight up and away from the base.

4. If the sand crumbles, it was either too dry or not packed well enough. Try again.
