It depends on your religion or culture. Evil is a very subjective term, so it actually depends on a vast number of variables, although most are related to perception. The fact is that there are more than 7 billion people on the planet. Every individual alive, every one who has ever lived or ever will live have one thing in common; to some degree they are all egocentric. It is the degree of this egocentricity and how it is demonstrated that determines whether the majority of others who observe it agree whether the demonstration is evil or not. Nailing down the origin of all evil in society is going to be much more markedly difficult.

It can also be influenced by historical events, social norms, and cultural beliefs. Addressing and combating evil in society requires a holistic and proactive approach that seeks to understand and address its root causes.

How did evil get into the world?

Once sentience is achieved human kind has always sought after more than their meager existence allowed, greed for material wealth and by extension power. Evil is in this world because some men forsake their humanity and become monsters, all for the sake of wealth and power. There are also lesser evils, like murderers and thieves, these people often have mental illnesses, were abused as a child or had some sort of traumatic experience, either that or they were simply born in an environment that promotes evil. Evil births evil, as does good births good.

How has religion helped to stop evil in society?

A:Unfortunately, religion has done little to stop evil in society. Hitler was a Christian, yet was responsible for some of the greatest evil in modern times. On the other hand, evil has often been committed in the misguided belief that evil can be used to promote religion.Religion and virtue are only sometimes associated, with no real evidence that a religious society has less evil than a non-religious society.
