Five drives motivate human behavior: Look good, feel good, be right, feel safe, avoid pain.

Look good: Internal- look good to oneself pertains to self-image, opinion of self.

External- look good to others of same social group, fitting in. Look good is not just about physical appearance. It is also about projected image and acceptance into group.

Feel good: Feel good applies to physical feelings, warm, fed, healthy, etc. But it also applies to emotional feelings, loved, accepted, etc.

Be right: All humans want to be right.Externally: If we are healthy minded we learn to accept correction in order to fit into our chosen society.

Internally: This is where rebellion and poor thinking skills come into play. We fool ourselves all the time, we lie to ourselves when we immaturely insist on being right. This is the battle for the mind.

Feel safe: Applies to physical as well as emotional safety.

Avoid Pain: Also applies to physical as well as emotional.

Human behavior and mental processes are motivated by a combination of intrinsic factors (such as emotions, beliefs, and personal values) and extrinsic factors (such as rewards, social influences, and cultural norms). Additionally, biological factors, such as genetics and brain chemistry, also play a significant role in shaping behavior and mental processes. Ultimately, the interplay of these various factors determines how individuals think, feel, and act in different situations.
