List the people and definitions of classical conditioning and operant conditioning and the people associated with each?

classical conditioning is when you associate one thing with another and is usually taught by someone else. for instance mothers teach their children to repricate via positive social releaser methods (e.g. Smiling) at which the child will learn to repeat. An example of a study Pavlov's dogs- everytime pavlov would feed his dog he would ring a bell. after a period of time the dog learn to associate the ringing of the bell with feeding time. Even when it wasn't time for food pavlov would ring the bell and the dog would come and salivate( thinks it is dinner time) this is because the dog has learnt to associate the ringing of the bell with feeding time. Operant conditioning you teach yourself and is through trial and error or through rewards. An example of a study Skinner's rats- skinner had some rats in a cage at which he never fed. after a while the rat discovered a button in the cage, when it pressed it food came out and into the cage. the rat had learnt to press the button in order to get food so would do so every time it was to be fed. I hope i have helped you :)

What are BF Skinner's accomplishments?

BF skinner is afamous psycologist who worked with mice and a stimulus...he used food pellets to reward the rat or electrocuted the rat when it did not pull the lever...after time the rat was able to be trained to pull the lever automatically when put in the cage

How are the owl's and Mrs Frisby's predicament alike?

Both the owl and Mrs. Frisby are facing the threat of danger. The owl is trapped in the cage and unable to escape, while Mrs. Frisby is trying to save her family's home from being destroyed by the farmer's plow. Both are in challenging situations that require them to find a way to overcome their predicaments.

What is different between classical and operant conditioning?

classical conditioning is where a participant learns to associate a stimulus with food that doesn't result in an overt behavioral response whereas operant is where a participant learns by reinforcement of consequences of a behaviour.

How did the rats escape from the cages in The Rats of Nihm?

They learn how to read in NIHM. Justin, a rat, learns that the cage has a metal tab on the edge of the cage. The tab says "pull nob out and slide". Justin noticed the nob is under the cage about 1-inch. Justin followed the directions on the metal tab. The cage opens. He tells Nicodemous, a rat, to do the same thing, and the news spreads throughout the room.

What is the name of the cage in which rats are kept?

There is no specific name for a cage for rats, its just based on what the housing is. So a cage for rats is just a cage. (Just like a hutch for rabbits is still a hutch even with no rabbits in)

Why are rats afraid of cages?

Not all rats are afraid of cages. My rats have always loved their cage, and when let out to play would wander in and out at their leisure. If you have rats who are afraid of their cage maybe there is something in the cage they do not like, maybe the cage is too small, maybe the cage is not comfortable enough or in a good position. Maybe there is something near the cage that scares the rats or maybe they do not get enough playtime and then resist going back into their cage. There are many reasons why a rat may be fearful of their cage, so there is no definitive answer.

How did the rats escape from nimh in the book mrsfrisby and the rats of nimh?

How did the rats and mice eventually get the screen open from mrsfrisby and the rats of nihm?

Uh...that's now how it happened. before mrs.Frisby was still a small "kid" mouse, the rats learned hoe to open the screen doors by reading, taught each other, then freed all the mice from their cage, and escaped through air vent, and after about 7 months or so, Mrs.Frisby met one of the mice of NIMH and they married each other, blah blah blah...
