There are many different reasons people choose to be police officers. People often choose to be a cop for the action. Others choose it because of the psychical work it requires. It pays decently, so many people become cops for the money (this is not ussually the main reason, there are tons of better paying jobs out there but can be a plus if you do want to join). People can become cops for the position of authority that comes with it.
Many others become police because of teh respect, as officers are commonly respected by many of the law-abiding citizens and can be regarded as heores.
The corrupt cop who bends the rules for personal gain. The loose cannon cop who doesn't follow orders and takes matters into their own hands. The incompetent cop who always makes mistakes. The hero cop who is always right and saves the day. The racist cop who discriminates against certain groups. The grizzled veteran cop who is tough and unemotional.
I'm a psychiatric nurse and it is my job to ask people this everyday. some of my patients say:because some people get jealous from people that get more attention.because some people want to be noticed as they never get noticed and they feel down because of it.because they want to treat people bad ways.because some people want others to feel sorry for them. (they may be ill or upset and have nobody around)however this isn't always the case. maybe some people don't want lots of attention but they get it so they have to act like they want it?also some people may want attention so that they can show off, maybe they do it to be popular.there are all different reasons why people get attention and not all the time, do they want it.
Human beings are naturally pressured into being as good as or better than one another. They want to fit in, but they also want to be themselves. This is what makes people want to be cool; they want to stand out, to be appreciated and special, they want others to be like them. It's all about having a following, having people you can trust look up to you.
Curiosity and the desire for knowledge are natural human traits that drive people to seek understanding and make sense of the world around them. People often want to know things to satisfy their intellectual curiosity, solve problems, make informed decisions, and improve their lives. Learning can also provide a sense of accomplishment and personal growth.
I don't really much understand why people want to be on tv either, but I guess they think that people would get to know their face and name and maybe somehow in their subconcious they think that they will become famous. Some just want to be recognized for what they did.

they want to be cops beacuse they like and beacuse they want to take care of the people of there town
No. If they did, there wouldn't be any narcs. Cops can legally lie to you. People that say yes either don't know or want you to get ARRESTED. Cops want to arrest everybody so anybody that answers yes might be a cop.
Just explain why you want to be a cop....to help people, etc.
