Well it depends on the student-their span of concentration, their field of interest etc. A student may find a lecture boring while another may find it interesting. Boredom would usually arise when a student cannot understand or relate to what is being taught or even think it is unimportant or irrelevant. It is usually observed that more students are bored when they are not directly involved in the proceedings of the class. In order to generate interest, it is important to make the class interactive. This maybe done with the help of audio/visual aids and explaining concepts with examples that students are likely to encounter or relate directly to.
