All the streets downtown have letters names. Also in the area is Sutter's Fort, the railroad museum, and the Crocker museum . Sutter's laid out the street plan in this area. To the north of the downtown you have the suburbs and a bit of a urban sprawl developed. The freeway into the city can be a bit touchy and hard to drive. It is easy to get lost if you are new to the area. Some of the streets downtown are one way which can make it confusing. The older sections are pretty with trees and walkways.
