No they are not. Many small incidents that will not cost much to repair are better off to pay for the damage your self rather than making a claim on your insurance that may raise your rates for up to three years. I have assisted customers on several occasions on just holding up on reporting the incidents while they find out what the cost will be before making the decision. You can also withdraw a claim if you find out that after your deductible it will not benefit you to file the claim.
Yes ... any and all accidents regardless of how minor you may think they are. Accidents at sea (or in a lake) are a very serious matter.
A non-reportable accident refers to an incident that does not meet the criteria for mandatory reporting to authorities, such as law enforcement or insurance companies. Typically, these are minor accidents involving minimal damage or injuries, where both parties involved agree to settle privately. Depending on local laws, factors like vehicle damage thresholds or the absence of injuries can determine whether an accident is classified as non-reportable. It is essential, however, to check specific regulations, as definitions can vary by jurisdiction.
The Heinrich Model, also known as Heinrich's Triangle, suggests that for every accident resulting in a major injury, there are numerous accidents leading to minor injuries and a larger number of accidents with no injury or property damage. It emphasizes the importance of addressing the root causes of all incidents, not just major accidents, to prevent future incidents.
On average, there are about 20 to 25 commercial aircraft accidents globally each year, which translates to roughly 1 to 2 incidents per month. However, the majority of these incidents are not catastrophic crashes; they often involve minor accidents or runway incidents. Commercial air travel is statistically one of the safest modes of transportation, with major crashes being exceedingly rare. Overall, aviation safety has improved significantly over the decades, leading to a decrease in fatal accidents.
Air Transat has experienced a few incidents and accidents since its inception in 1987, but none have resulted in fatalities. Notable incidents include runway excursions and minor accidents, but the airline has maintained a strong safety record overall. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's best to consult aviation safety databases or reports.

The exact number of cruise ship accidents in the last 10 years can vary depending on definitions and reporting standards, but there have been several notable incidents, including groundings, collisions, and onboard emergencies. According to some maritime safety reports, there have been hundreds of incidents, though most are minor and do not lead to significant injuries or fatalities. High-profile accidents, like the Costa Concordia disaster in 2012, continue to shape public perception of cruise safety. Overall, while accidents do occur, cruising remains statistically safe for travelers.
