There is no minimum age for a child to use public transport alone. The legal guardian must make a judgement call on what would be a safe and reasonable age for their child to ride unaccompanied.
Many bus companies will have their own policies in place on acceptable age ranges.
Take bus 79A Downtown, then bus 1. Next, walk to the nearest bus stop & catch that bus. It should take you all the way to Faro from Seville!!

Your best (and cheapest) route would be to take a Megabus or Bolt Bus from Boston to NYC. It will cost around $30.
Yes you can take a long distance bus or you can take an Amtrak train.
With the bus it takes around 1 hour or a bit more and you have to take bus X2, it costs 2.60 EUR. I reccomend that you take the taxi though as it only takes 20 min and you wont have to wait ages like you have to do for the bus.

i believe that you can ride the bus by yourself when your able to manage it on your own without being scared. i usually see 8th graders and up ride a city bus by themselves
