When I was in the service, one way was intercity bus ( I don' t remember what they call it in Great Britain) but, for me, it was and I assume still is the cheapest way to 'get about,' as they say.
You have a choice of train, car or coach. Cheapest way I know is through www.megabus.com who do cheap bus and train fares for as low as £1 each!

If a car is purchased and used in London then you should register it there. Where the car was made is not factor in where you are registering it.
