You can be in a record book either by making or breaking a record .
Making a record:- if you have some unique skill or creative idea of record you want to bring out to the world you have to get expertise in it and get it recorded it on a Dvd or Vcd ,click some photographs and some witnesses to verify your attempt and send it to the record organisation you are making the record for if they approve it they will send you a certificate and if they find it interesting they might even include it in their record book or website also.
Breaking a record :- If you want to break an existing record you have to inform the record organisation and get the latest details of the existing record practise it and when you find out that you are able to break the existing record you can recorded it on a Dvd or Vcd ,click some photographs and some witnesses to verify your attempt and send it to the record organisation if they approve it they will send you a certificate and if they find it interesting they might even include it in their record book or website also.

You call the people from a place that calculates world records, for example, Guinness, and you can either send in a video of you breaking the world record (which I am sure you have to have witnesses for) or you can perform the world record in the presence of a representative from the company. If you break the record you will be put in the book.
