Martin Luther King, Jr. He was 35 when he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, the youngest male recipient so far and the youngest overall winner of the award at the time. However, Yemeni journalist, politician and human rights activist Tawakkol Karman is currently the youngest overall winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. She was 32 when she was a co-winner of the award in 2011. The 1976 co-winner of the Peace Prize, Mairead Corrigan (now Mairead Maguire), a peace activist from Northern Ireland, was also 32 when she won the award, but was about a week-and-a-half older at the time than Karman was when she won the award.
