They're threatened with death if they try. Quitting Islam is a lot like quitting a violent street gang. Most Muslims are not interested in leaving Islam. They believe in God and His Prophet as framed by Islam.
They let them be and worship as they liked but required them to pay a tax if they wanted to stay. If they wanted to leave they were free to go.
Muslims are followers of Islam but they speak many languages depending upon where they live. If you're referring to Arabic, native tongue of original Muslims, another person might be able to translate this into English for you.
In some countries that follow Islamic law, leaving the religion of Islam can be punishable by death.
You are just required to introduce him/her to the Islam fundamentals and Qur'an authenticity and the good morals of Islam; then leave the choice for him/her. You should never coerce someone into becoming a Muslim. Refer to helping questions below.

The answer is Convert. My friend answer is totally wrong that he says yes you can convert to any religion and you are free in this case. Yes you are free to change religion and but in case of Islam, once you entered in this religion then you have no option to leave it. Additionally, the religion of the person prior to conversion will typically see that person as an apostate or heretic.

There have been clashes between the two faiths shortly after the start of Islam in the 7th Century AD. However, presently as another 'caliphate' is attempting to start in the Middle East, Christians who have lived in the lands in question - having had roots there since the 1st Century AD long before the origins of Islam - are now being given 3 choices: convert to Islam; remain but pay a price for this privilege with perhaps some persecution, or simply leave the area. No other major religion tasks others with such severity of choices and even death.
