Are there solutions to religious intolerance?

Yes, there is! Religious intolerance has everything to do with who is teaching people about god (Pastors, Preachers, priests, etc ) and how they are teaching. If they teach about how god accepts everyone, there would be less religious intolerance than if they teach about the strict guidelines The Bible puts on peoples values and way of living.

The very notion that the Bible places strict guidelines on all people's values and way of living sows the seeds of religious intolerance. Even the notion that God accepts everyone can sow the seeds of religious intolerance, since this notion starts with the premise that other gods are of no value.

Coercion was the medieval way of forcing people to be Christians, and is still the way of Islam in many countries. Coercion is not the way to solve problems of religious intolerance. Understanding, achieved though education and interaction with others of different religious beliefs, is the solution, at least in part.

When religion, such as the Baha'i Faith, teaches that all religions have the same Divine Source of Inspiration, it is impossible to hate or distance the other. "Consort with the followers of all relgions." When that is part of religious instruction, its hard to hate people you become friends with.

Religious tolerance requires that every believer, in whatever faith, not only accepts the absolute right of others to worship their own gods, but that their own scriptures provide valuable guidelines for living. It accepts that even atheists and agnostics can hold high moral values and live useful and fulfilling lives without any guidance from someone else's God.

The only other solution to religious intolerance would be for all people to cease holding religious beliefs, but I can't see that happening in my lifetime.
