I am not sure how the various American Indian nations do it, but they also adopt members into their nations, just as person becomes a naturalized citizen of a nation other than the one into which they were born.

There are Indians (of all nations) who are members of all kinds of different religions, including Jehovah's Witnesses.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses; I am also a "mutt." That is, a little bit of everything, including Blackfoot on my father's side and Creek on my mother's side.
