According to multiple commentaries on the book of Acts, Luke is the author of that book. In The People's New Testament, a commentary on the New Testament of The Bible, "the preface [of Acts] shows that it was written by the same author as the third Gospel, which has been ascribed by the church in all ages to Luke, and in the first canon of the New Testament Scriptures he is named as the author"

No. There is no book of 'Paul', as such, however there are 14 letters generally attributed to Paul in the Bible. Paul, as an 'overseer' and early 'apostle to the nations', traveled all around the Mediterranean Sea(Romans 15:19), preaching and teaching, and building-up the early Christian congregations. His 14 'books' were actually letters to the different congregations or to specific people, for correction, encouragement or direction in keeping the congregations unified, clean and busy. These included letters to the Romans (that is, the congregation in Rome(Romans 1:1+7), 1+2 Corinthians(two letters to the congregation in Corinth), etc...then to the Galatian, Ephesian, Philippian and Colossian congregations, then two letters to those in Thessalonica. He then writes two letters to his "fellow worker", Timothy, and one to a fellow Christian who had been with him on preaching tours, Titus (Titus 1:4+5). He wrote to Philemon, a fellow Christian, regarding Philemon's run-away servant, Onesimus, who had since learned the truth from Paul in prison, and become a Christian himself (Philemon 1-25) , and also he wrote the letter to the Hebrews in Jerusalem.

The author of Acts of the Apostles is clearly the same person as the author of the third gospel. This was attributed to Luke, the physician and companion of Paul, later in the second century, but until that time it had remained anonymous. Modern New Testament scholars say that the author could not have been Luke. John Shelby Spong says there are too many discrepancies between Acts and Paul's epistles for the author to have known Paul. Raymond E. Brown says that Luke-Acts is a narrative written by a believer to encourage belief.

Even when we look at the opening two verses of Luke's Gospel, we find the author describing his knowledge as those things believed in his community and delivered to him through sources who once received them from eyewitnesses. These are not the words of a man who knew any of the earliest apostles.

We do not know who wrote Acts of the Apostles, but it was not Luke.
