Yes the prophecy from the book of Amos in the Old Testament of The Bible has come to pass. In Amos 9 he prophesied the land of David would be restores, this was fulfilled in 1948 when Israel became a nation again .
This book in the Hebrew Bibles is called "Sepher Amos", the Book of Amos; and, in the Vulgate Latin and Syriac versions, the Prophecy of Amos. This person, Amos is not the father of Isaiah, as some say. There are no family details regarding, Amos except that this man was a country farmer and herdsman.
If you are speaking of the "name of Amos" it means "burden" or "burden-bearer". If you are talking about the meaning of the Book of Amos, Amos was a prophet of God from Judea sent to the northern kingdom to prophecy their down fall.... it failed.
The place in the statue in Daniel's prophecy was iron.
Yes he is, and the Mormon prophecy shall take place :P
Creon makes his way to the horses and burns the prophecy with his flaming sword.
Early 1800's in New England. Led by Thoreau, Emerson, Fuller and Amos Alcott as a call to "an original relation to the universe."--Emerson

I suppose that depends on what exactly you mean by following Amos' teachings, but members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe that their leader, Thomas S. Monson, is a prophet. They believe that the Lord reveals His secrets to him as Amos mentions in chapter 3. He exhorts members of the church to seek Jesus Christ and do good as in Amos chapter 5. They believe he is called of God as Amos says in chapter 7, and are striving to gather Israel and all true believers in Christ together as Amos says in chapter 9.
