Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses generally pay taxes in the countries where they reside, like any other citizens or residents.
Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are generally required to pay taxes like any other individual or organization, unless they qualify for specific tax exemptions based on their religious activities.
Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for being 100% diligent in paying their taxes. Romans. 13:7. Mark 12:17. From which in many countries government welfare comes from. So if they qualify for welfare for some reason. ( such as retirement etc. ) Then they have no qualms about accepting welfare payments. Hope this answers your question logically and scripturally?
Most countries have an agreement so nothing is double taxed so you either dont have to pay tax in regards to your rental property in the country you reside if you paid it in France or more commonly you would get a credit in the country you reside for the tax you paid in France. Speak with your accountant about this but either way you will not get taxed twice on the same thing.
The taxes on a new vehicle purchase will be paid to the state where you reside. If you purchase the vehicle in a state other than the one where you reside you will pay the sales tax when you register it, or title it in your state.
Jehovah's Witness do not believe that 'the Watchtower' is God's organization. The word Watchtower is just part of the name of the legal entity which Jehovah's Witnesses use so that they can legally engage in the publication and printing of Bible literature. We live in countries which have laws regarding property ownership, taxes and publication. In order to print materials, we need to purchase paper, ink, binding material, shipping boxes and vehicles. This all requires business transactions, and these transactions have to be carried out in keeping with prevailing law. At the level of publishing and printing that we engage in, the legal entity is necessary. We are known formally as 'Watchtower Bible & Tract Society' of NY, or Pennsylvania, or London, and there are many other branches. The word 'Watchtower' is also the name of one of our regular publications.Organizations are made up of people. The people then give themselves an identity based on the organization's founding principles and mission. Many people in religious organizations call themselves Christian, and within that broad category there are other groups that identify as Roman Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, etc.The individuals who have formed the legal entity known as Watchtower Bible & Tract Society have given themselves the identity of 'Jehovah's Witnesses'.But the Jehovah's Witnesses don't dedicate themselves to The Watchtower or to any group of people. We dedicate ourselves directly to Jehovah God in private personal prayer. We are witnesses who belong to Jehovah God (Jehovah's Witnesses) and we dedicate ourselves to Him.We gather together in groups called congregations, a word also used by other Christian groups. Our main purpose for gathering in groups is to go out into the public, to witness. This takes some organization on our part. Certainly no one wants all the members of a congregation to come together as one group when visiting houses in the community. So we assign territories. This requires organization that involves the drawing of maps, charting group progress, and occasional reassignment in order to distribute tasks equitably. This is simply one example of how we organize in order to serve Jehovah, to bear witness to Jehovah's purposes and requirements for mankind.Of course we believe that we are God's organized people; that's why we call ourselves 'Jehovah's (God's) Witnesses'. Many other religions do similar things. They call themselves Christ's people, or Christians.
Each country has its own level of taxes. In some countries they are harsh, in some there are scarcely any taxes.
It will depend on where you reside as to what taxes are withheld. Federal Withholding taxes, FICA taxes, and Medicare taxes are the federal taxes that are withheld. Most people will also be effected by State taxes and some will even have to pay city or county income taxes along with the other taxes.
Jehovah's Witnesses have won numerous Supreme court battles and set many precedents regarding many religious freedom issues. They have also convinced many criminals and immoral people to change their lifestyle dramatically. They strive to be examples of model citizens including scrupulously paying their taxes. They are often first on the site of national disasters to help fellow witnesses and non-witnesses.
No they don't When I was a kid I questioned ALLL of it because I never thought it was fair. I guess they don't do it because of patriotism. They also cannot solute the flag. Reason being; it's false idolization. You shouldn't be worshiping a flag or your country, you should be worshiping god. It says it in all christian bibles to not worship any objects or worship people. Only god. Jehovah's Witnesses, although obeying the laws and paying taxes to the country in which they reside, do not consider themselves citizens of any human government or country, as they feel they have given their allegiance to God alone and are citizens of God's Kingdom, or His government, ruled by Christ Jesus.
