This is funny, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and am happy to answer this questions. Yes you do give gifts. We don't celebrate most holidays or secular observances, but marriage was instituted by God himself with the first human couple and its something that we think is very special. Our weddings our very happy occasions. Enjoy!

I am also a Jehovah's Witness and wanted to add that since we celebrate few occasions often there is MANY gifts at weddings!

Can you give a gift with Jesus name to a Jehovah's Witness?

Jehovah's Witnesses have no objection to receiving gifts; they don't celebrate holidays that have pagan origins.

What gifts can Jehovah Witness accept and for what reasons if any?

Jehovah's Witnesses are like anyone else. We enjoy giving and receiving gifts. With that in mind, JW's do not accept or give gifts that are associated with religious or nationalistic holidays, nor do we accept or give birthday gifts. Gifts for wedding, maternity, house warming, or gifts just for the sake of giving are no problem. RELATED QUESTIONDo Jehovah

Why do enlighten rulers praise Jehovah's Witnesses?

Simply put, Jehovah's Witnesses around the world obey the law's of the nation in which they live. They are peaceful and love people. Therefore, world rulers are happy to give them praise.Nobody can really know why an "enlightened ruler" would praise the Jehovah's Witnesses, but the main point is that Jehovah's Witnesses never have and never will endorse any form of human government. The only form of government that Jehovah's Witnesses look forward to is actually the end of human government, and the establishment of Jehovah's rule here on earth through his son, Christ Jesus. The Jehovah's Witnesses call this future rule the purest and most true Theocracy.Perhaps you could give details of which specific rulers you mean, before an attempt is made on 'why'.

Why does jehovas don't take blood transfusion?

"Jehovah's Witnesses" is what we are called. And we believe blood is sacred and should not be given away. However, some Jehovah's Witnesses do give and receive blood. It is a moral problem.

Their religion does not give dictation about their career choices.Further education, particularly involving university/college degrees, however, is discouraged amongst Jehovah's Witnesses and so it would in practice be very rare to see one studying to become a doctor.

Will a Jehovah say the prayer god give me strath?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not repeat specific prayers, instead they are taught to pray from their heart, expressing their inner thoughts and emotions. Also in line with your question however is that Jehovah's Witnesses are encouraged from the Bible to pray for strength from God to overcome the trials that they experience.

Do Jehovah witness except new born baby gifts?

Yes. It is very touching that some want to give gifts to newborns. Among witnesses baby showers are common. If their was some reason a gift is rejected it would be because of a decision by the parents. If it was inappropriate or bothered their Bible trained conscience. As to why it was not accepted they would be the ones to explain it.

Did Michael Jackson give an outright check to Jehovah's Organisation during his lifetime?

He may well have done so since Jackson was well noted for his generosity and sympathetic to a number of faiths including Jehovah's Witnesses. All contributions made to Jehovah's Witnesses however, are strictly confidential, so this information is not publically available.

What is an informer witness?

The term is "informal" witnessing. Everyone knows Jehovah's Witnesses go formally knocking on people's doors hoping to be allowed to give a witness for their beliefs. That is the formal, or usual way of witnessing. But if you and one of Jehovah's Witnesses meet you on the street or in a store and you strike up a conversation, they can give a witness for their beliefs 'informally'.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses more likely to cut themselves?

Do Jehovah's Witnesses have a present day?

Jehovah's Witnesses give or receive absolutely any type of present imaginable, as long as it does not in any way offend Jehovah God according to the standards set forth in the Bible. If you are referring to birthdays as "present day", than the answer would be that it is not scriptural, according to what the Jehovah's Witnesses believe to celebrate birthdays. And as a note we feel that we don't have to wait for any specific day to give or receive a present, any day is fine. We feel that this reflects the true spirit of giving. And as far as Christmas is viewed, in terms of presents, pretty much the same action may be applied (keeping in mind, of course, that according to Jehovah's Witnesses Christmas is not biblical).
