Abraham saw God as Melchizedek and later interceded for Sodom with Him to spare the city if 10 righteous people were found living there. Jacob wrestled with Him and Moses saw His reflection from behind while all Israel heard Him on the mount and agreed to the Covenant.
Most importantly, God as the Word became flesh and lived amongst many for 36 years. So in all these times and through the Prophets and His works of prophecy, God has made Himself known to mankind leaving us without excuse.
