There are numerous accounts of people around the world and throughout history that have seen angels/beings. There are many people today who don't want to admit such things in fear of backlash from their community. One such person is a surgeon in Canada who saw a being of light standing next to a dying man (one of his patients) in the hospital hallway. He did not believe in superphysical beings before witnessing it.

In Western countries the very idea of "angelic" beings (or any other superphysical beings) is preposterous although instances still happen. In the rest of the world, not only angelic beings but other, maleficent, beings of superphysical characteristics are considered a natural part of life.

Angels are "superphysical" beings because we physical beings live in a 4 dimensional world with time being the fourth dimension. They, however, consist of more dimensions. Think of it this way: if a three dimensional ball passes through a two dimensional world, the people of the two dimensional world only (and briefly) see a circle instead of the full sphere. They only see it within their two dimensional parameters. If you tried to explain to them that the ball had an extra dimension and therefore able to do things that the two-dimensional people could not, they would have a difficult time understanding it.

It is the same with angels and other superphysical beings. Difficult to put within our physical parameters and when they are seen we cannot see them as they fully are. That's why many accounts consist of beings of light, forms of light and supernatural "feats".
