Daoism advocates simple living; if you make it a point to focus all your earnings only on 1) Food (this includes clean drinking water) 2) Shelter 3) Clothing 4) and Hygiene Then, not spending money on luxuries, will in time make your bank account very large. If you turn it into a family tradition, the money will pile up generation after generation; that is the reason why many Chinese families enjoy wealth, a culture of saving for the next generation. Sorry, but there is no "daoist magic" for wealth, as, one of the few points both religiious and philosophical daoism agree on, overall, Daoism is decidedly anti-materialistic. The closest western counterpart to Daoism, is the philosophy of Diogenes. Its funny how the English pronunciation of Daoism begins with a D, as well as the name of the Greek philosopher who advocates its more or less western counterpart. Daoism Diogenes Personal and uncalled for opinion aside; as with the philosophy of Diogenes, Daoist philosophy takes a decidedly anti-materialistic stance. Diogenes however, took it to extremes, that can be considered extreme, even by Philosophical Daoists. I am terribly sorry, but in mystical/religious Daoism, where magical practice exists, there is no wealth building magic; all sorcery in Daoism, is focused on the cleansing of the soul, and achieving immortality, not personal wealth. If you have any Chinese claiming Daoism can make you rich, they're lying to you; chances are they are con artists only using their Chinese identity to lend "authority" to what they're talking about. For example "I am a Jew, and as a Jew, I can tell you that Moses used a .45 caliber machine gun to mow down the Egyptians, he did not part the red sea with a miracle. Listen to me, a Jew, not the guy with blue eyes over there who says The Bible claims Moses did it with a miracle. Listen to me, a Jew, because being Jewish gives me authority." Many Chinese, with respect to Feng Shui, Chinese Martial Arts, among other things, use their ethnicity to lend false authority, to false claims. Please be careful.
