In Romans chapter 10 verse 17 one can read that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Nowhere can you read that one can pray their soul saved. In all exampels shown it The Bible you can read what was told for one to do. The Old Law was nailed to the cross and is no longer in effect, (Colossians 2:14) Then you can read in places like Acts chapter 8 verse 30 where Philip ask the Ethiopian "Do you understand what you are reading". He was starting to understand some about Christ. In Acts chapter 2 verse 38 we are told to "repent" or turn away from our old ways of life. We are to confess Christ, Romans 10 verse 9. And be baptized into Christ,Acts chapter 2 verse 38, Mark 16 verse 16, 1 Peter 3 verse 21. This is the begining of the new life of a Christian. One is then added to the church according to Acts 2 verse 47. These are just a few examples shown in the bible.
Ask your church leader if you are confused.

There is no absolute answer to this question. What is a true christian today? What was a true christian in Hobbes' lifetime. Is there a such thing as a true christian? Who says so, and are they an authority on the subject? Is it appropriate to judge Hobbes by today's standards or should the standards of his day be used? Too many questions, none with answers that are rooted in fact.
no
