During the Roman Empire, Christianity emerged in the Eastern Mediterranean. Its head was in Jerusalem. It then spread to Antioch, Corinth and Ephesus. From Antioch it spread to Syria, from Ephesus to Asia Minor and Gaul and from Alexandria to the Roman Empire. From the Roman Empire it spread to Italy and Africa. From there it spread to Spain. Eventually it diffused through the rest of Europe and Asia and was then brought over to the Americas. The Hearth of modern day Christianity is in Rome.
