Muslims believe that ALLAH(SWT) the one and only God created the world, He knows what happened in the past, whats happenning now and whats going to happen in the future. If there is a leaf falling from a tree in any part in the world HE knows about it and NOTHING happens without the will of ALLAH.

Volume 4, Book 54, Number 416:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne,

"My Mercy overpowers My Anger."

Volume 6, Book 60, Number 373:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, " Paradise and the Fire (Hell) argued, and the Fire (Hell) said, "I have been given the privilege of receiving the arrogant and the tyrants.' Paradise said, 'What is the matter with me? Why do only the weak and the humble among the people enter me?' On that, Allah said to Paradise. 'You are My Mercy which I bestow on whoever I wish of my servants.' Then Allah said to the (Hell) Fire, 'You are my (means of) punishment by which I punish whoever I wish of my slaves. And each of you will have its fill.' As for the Fire (Hell), it will not be filled till Allah puts His Foot over it whereupon it will say, 'Qati! Qati!' At that time it will be filled, and its different parts will come closer to each other; and Allah will not wrong any of His created beings. As regards Paradise, Allah will create a new creation to fill it with."

When Prophet Muhammad, saws, was asked how this universe started to exist, he said:

"Allah existed [eternally] and nothing else existed with Him.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

(when you do not understand what eternal means or if it is possible,

you can think of the numbers:

under the zero 0, it goes from -1 to -2 to NO Beginning

(do you know the first (or you also can say the last number) under the zero)

and above the 0 it goes from 1 to 2 t No END

(do you know the last numeber above the zero (0)??? answer there is no last number)

conclusion: We see that numbers have NO BEGINNING and NO END, just like Allah (God) swt)

He created the Arsh (Throne) [and placed it] above the water.

He [ordered the Pen to] write in the (Guarded) Tablet everything that would happen.

Then Allah created the heavens and Earth." (Related by al-Bukhari.)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Narrated by Ibn Bashar, narrated by Yahya, narrated by Sufyan Al-Thuri, narrated by Sulayman Al-Amash, narrated by Abu Thubian, narrated by Ibn Abbas who related,

"The first thing that Allah created was the pen

and He said to it 'Write'.

The pen asked, 'What shall I write?'

Allah said, 'Write (the) fate (of everything).'

So the pen wrote everything that shall be from that moment until judgment day.

It is mentioned in the Hadith that a delegation from Yemen came to the prophet (PBUH), and asked him:

"O Allah's Apostle! We have come to ask you about this matter (i.e. how creation began)".

The prophet understood that this question needs an answer in order to prevent any misinterpretations resulting from vain desire or Satanic thoughts, so he said:

"First of all, there was Allah, and there was nothing before Him,

and His throne was over the water (The water upon which was Allah's throne was all the water that He created)

and He wrote everything in "Al-Thikr" (the tablet)

and then He created the Heavens and the Earth."

AnswerThe Muslim story of creation mirrors the biblical creation and is arguably based on an early interpretation of that account.
