It would seem that missionary activity is contrary to the purpose of God in the Old Testament, although of course it is consistent wth what we read in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, God was solely concerned with his Chosen People, the Israelites. In the Book of Joshua God this was made clear when he even commanded that Joshua put to death every man, woman and child of the conquered cities.
